Eight-vertex Star Pendant with Cabochon

These geometric shapes are so much fun to make! and the work goes easy when using Delica seed beads. I came up with the idea of creating this 8-vertex star after I finished this geometric set. I had to do some calculations (I hate that part as I am not a mathematical-minded person) and a few trials&errors before I came up with the right size to fit the cabochon in the center of it. I've made more of these pendants, hanging from different necklaces, but didn't get them photographed yet.

One Beaded Tassel

I beaded this tassel and used a golden chain to hang it from, but I don't really like how it came out. It looks a bit strange and not in the right proportions to me.

Everyone who saw this tassel thought that it is going to be hanging on my curtains and asked where the other one is... Ha ha! :P That lead me to think that I can make another one for earrings, but the big metal bead alone is too heavy for an earring, so I dropped the idea.
I want it as a part of a necklace, like I originally planned. I don't know yet what necklace I am going to bead, but I do know that I want it attached to something that is BOLD! What do you think?

Why Waste Good Materials?

I had a lot of leftover pieces of nylon coated beading wire in three different metallic colors, which I couldn't just throw away. I kept them in my drawer until I had an idea of using them.

Jewelry made with metal hoops is very fashionable now, so here is my idea:
I braided three pieces of wire in 3 different colors, strung some bicone beads and rounded it into a hoop, closed by using a crimp bead.
I then made few more, each one in a different diameter and connected to another one, until I had a long piece. Finally I removed the sharp wire edges with a small side-cutter.
That's it – I have a very light long fashionable lariat!

I think it worth not to throw away good leftovers, don't you?
