Delights In Kites - Necklace Beading Tutorial and Kit

With all the madness going on all of us in 2020, I somehow still managed to bead some and create new designs. It has always been a way to relax and energy recharger...

This is my latest - Delights in Kites Necklace, available as a beading tutorial and as beading kit (available in two colors). It is shown as bib style necklace, but it can also be made in full neckline length.

I hope you all still bead, too. Let's keep creating and adding beauty to the world!

New Beading Tutorial - Adina, Aliza & Atara - Three Necklaces / Ropes

I can hardly believe it myself, but I finally finished the tutorial I started working on back in September 2013 and discovered it on my computer not long ago...
Somehow, while trying to work on two tutorials at a time (the other one was the Nona Bangle tutorial, a design I just had to make right away after getting filled with inspiration from one of Contemporary Geometric Beadwork beautiful bracelet designs), I had completely forgotten about this one.  I guess I should always work on one project at a time, no matter what distracts me...

The tutorial is for three necklaces / ropes / chains (whatever you prefer to call them) in different thicknesses, beadwoven with Japanese seed beads, Superduo beads, fire polished beads...

I gave the necklaces Hebrew names, that pretty much describe them: Adina, Aliza & Atara. If you are you wondering what is the meaning of these names, here it is:
Adina means fine, dainty, delicate… Aliza means jovial, happy, cheerful… and Atara means a diadem, a crown…

Adina, Aliza & Atara Necklaces

Another tutorial I listed today in my shops is the Hojas Lace bracelet - it is an old bracelet pattern that was originally published in the October 2009 issue of Beadwork magazine as "Pewter Lace".

And last thing.... The pre-order sale of "ShangriLa" is still on... You can purchase the tutorial for it at 20% discount until April 19. I will send the PDF file by email after that date.

MariLily Necklace

This is my newest beading project, named "MariLily" after Mariposa Lily - a flower with three petals.
The necklace was originally made last year to match the bracelet (Blue Bonnet) I designed as my Designer of the Year project for April-May 2013 issue of Beadwork magazine.

This was one of the projects I really enjoyed working on, because ideas for other designs kept popping in my mind while I was working on the first version... The other versions make a delicate necklace that can fit a young woman...And I think this necklace is perfect for the coming Spring, don't you?

In the instructions for this necklace I included directions for the other 3 design options and for beading matching earrings. The tutorial is available in both my Etsy and Artfire shops.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my loyal followers & customers who sent me wonderful messages and emails, telling me how they love my work and how happy they are that I'm being one of the Designer of the Year of Beadwork magazine. Your support and encouragement means a lot to me!, and it helps me keep sharing my jewelry designs with others, although there were so many times that I wanted to stop doing it and just bead for myself (I'll write about why in one of my next blogs).  And many thanks also to everyone who showed me their work made from my patterns.

Thank you, thank you all so much!!!

Angel Wings Pendant

This is my newest project - Angel Wings - a reversible pendant, made with seed beads, crystal bicones, drop bead and fire polished beads. A tutorial is available in both my Artfire and Etsy shops. I also included another design option in the tutorial as a bonus.

This is one of those beading projects that are rather simple looking, but it takes quite a lot of time to design, and every single seed bead strung effect the structure of the design. It is quite fun and simple to make, though, if you know how to do so in advance...

Tendril Necklace

It's been quite a while since I last blogged... This is my newly finished project - Tendril Necklace, which is beadwoven with seed beads, fire polished beads and druk beads. I enjoyed designing this project, mainly because my muse cooperated excellently all way long  and offered me ideas for another two versions for the necklace... I love how soft the necklace turned out and how beautifully it sits around the neckline. A tutorial is already available in my Artfire and Etsy shops, in case you want to try it for yourself...

The winner of the Battle of the Beadsmith 2012 was announced today, and it is Alla Maslennikova from Russia. Congrats to Alla on winning the first BOTB! And thanks to Steven Weiss for arranging such  a great happening for the beading community!
I was one of the judges in this years competition (I plan to participate as a contestant next year, and I hope my muse won't get intimidated by all those gorgeous works presented this year!... ), and I have to say that from the very first rounds, it was really, really hard to pick one work to move forward to the next round. But in the final round was almost impossible for me to decide who is the winner - Alla with her absolutely gorgeous Baroque necklace, or Ann Braginsky from Israel, with her stunning, artful and interesting New Age Valkyrie neck piece. I love both of the pieces and even though I had to pick just one (I voted for Ann's work), still - both Alla's and Ann's works are winners in my eyes! The two works are so different from each other, but each one is amazingly and beautifully designed and beaded!
